Method One
Measure an Existing Ring
The most reliable at-home method is to measure a ring that already fits the intended finger. Choose a ring that fits comfortably and sits on the same finger and hand where the new ring will be worn.
- Place the ring on a flat surface.
- Measure the internal diameter from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge.
- Measure in millimeters for best accuracy.
- Compare the internal diameter with the chart below.
Method Two
Measure with String, Paper, or a Soft Tape
You can also measure your finger using a thin strip of paper, a soft measuring tape, or a piece of non-stretch string.
- Wrap the paper or string around the base of your finger.
- Make sure it feels comfortable and can pass over the knuckle.
- Mark where the strip overlaps.
- Measure the length in millimeters. This is the finger circumference.
- Compare the circumference with the chart below.

Fit Tips
- Measure your finger at the end of the day, when fingers are usually slightly larger.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold, as fingers may be smaller.
- Wider bands usually feel tighter than slim bands and may require a slightly larger size.
- Engagement rings should feel secure but still slide over the knuckle with light resistance.
- If you are between sizes, consider the ring width, finger shape, and daily comfort.

Resizing Guidance
Some rings may be eligible for resizing depending on the design, metal type, stone setting, band structure, and requested adjustment. Rings with continuous stones, eternity settings, detailed shoulders, or complex structures may not be safely resizable.
- Plain bands and many solitaire rings are generally easier to resize.
- Full eternity rings usually cannot be resized.
- Half eternity and pavé designs may have limited resizing options.
- Engraved, bespoke, or personalized rings may have special service conditions.
Common Questions
Ring Size FAQs
What is the most accurate way to measure my ring size?
The most accurate option is to use a physical ring sizer or be measured by a professional jeweler. At home, measuring an existing ring that fits well is usually more reliable than measuring with string.
Should I size up for a wider band?
Often, yes. Wider bands can feel tighter than slim bands, so some customers prefer a slightly larger size.
Can all rings be resized?
No. Full eternity rings, some pavé designs, complex settings, and heavily detailed bands may not be safely resizable.
What if I am between two sizes?
The best choice depends on ring width, finger shape, knuckle size, and comfort preference. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
